Job Overview
- Anticipating and addressing guest needs, resolving their problems and escalating complaints where necessary by contacting the appropriate department including immediate management.
- Providing and obtaining all necessary information and disseminating correct information when taking reservations over the phone
- Completing check-in/checkout processes, maintaining an inventory of room vacancies
- Reservations, room assignments and enter rooming list or other data in Maestro correctly
- Be aware of room locations, types of rooms, availability and room rate all the time
- Utilizing proper customer relations techniques to make sure calls are handled both courteously professionally and on a timely basis
- Ensuring that messages, deliveries, and faxes are handled correctly and efficiently.
- Ensuring all necessary reports and forms are completed daily and communicate to other departments
- Verifying that proper identification and credit cards are used ensuring all postings of cash transactions, account settlements are handled correctly
- Taking appropriate incidentals and room fees via authorization correctly ensuring proper information is taken with systems (Maestro, Clover)
- Checking status of departures throughout the shifts and relaying all pertinent information when handle over to the next shift
- Ensuring guest areas and back of the house are clean an organized
- Performing any other tasks and duties as assigned by management
Required Skills
- Completion of secondary school or equivalent required
- Completion of a two-year apprenticeship program, or a college program in front desk operations
- Hotel management an asset
- Bilingualism an added advantage
Work Schedule
- Full-time, Unionized
- 8-hour shifts, flexible day & evening shift
- Weekend availability required
Pay Rate
- $17.00/hr
