Job Overview

  • Anticipating and addressing guest needs, resolving their problems and escalating complaints where necessary by contacting the appropriate department including immediate management.
  • Providing and obtaining all necessary information and disseminating correct information when taking reservations over the phone
  • Completing check-in/checkout processes, maintaining an inventory of room vacancies
  • Reservations, room assignments and enter rooming list or other data in Maestro correctly
  • Be aware of room locations, types of rooms, availability and room rate all the time
  • Utilizing proper customer relations techniques to make sure calls are handled both courteously professionally and on a timely basis
  • Ensuring that messages, deliveries, and faxes are handled correctly and efficiently.
  • Ensuring all necessary reports and forms are completed daily and communicate to other departments
  • Verifying that proper identification and credit cards are used ensuring all postings of cash transactions, account settlements are handled correctly
  • Taking appropriate incidentals and room fees via authorization correctly ensuring proper information is taken with systems (Maestro, Clover)
  • Checking status of departures throughout the shifts and relaying all pertinent information when handle over to the next shift
  • Ensuring guest areas and back of the house are clean an organized
  • Performing any other tasks and duties as assigned by management

Required Skills

  • Completion of secondary school or equivalent required
  • Completion of a two-year apprenticeship program, or a college program in front desk operations
  • Hotel management an asset
  • Bilingualism an added advantage

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, Unionized
  • 8-hour shifts, flexible day & evening shift
  • Weekend availability required

Pay Rate

  • $17.00/hr
