Join a dynamic team, in the Information Technology Section of the Corporate Services Division, that embraces customer service to provide visitors with a treasured experience.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO DO IN THIS ROLE?

You will:

  • Aid the IT team with troubleshooting and configuration of desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, and network environments in various areas of the Commission.
  • Assist in the administration of the SLPC desktop environment and assist users with technical and user issues associated with hardware and software.
  • Assist in the creation of new staff user accounts
  • Triage help desk support requests.
  • Work safely at all times and report unsafe activities immediately to your supervisor.
  • Embody the SLPC’s equity, diversity and inclusion principles while interacting with staff and guests.

HOW DO I QUALIFY?

You have:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows10/10 operating system environment.
  • Knowledge of computer desktop hardware and peripherals troubleshooting and installation.
  • General knowledge and experience with Ethernet and Wi-Fi networks.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to work independently and with direction from senior members of the IT team.
  • The ability to learn all safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal, visitor and fellow staff safety is maintained at all times.

Student Status: You must be enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution (currently or for the fall semester) OR you must have graduated within the past six months (for example, if you graduated in December, you can apply for and start a summer student position up until June of the following year).

  • HOURS OF WORK: variable up to 36.25 hours per week (must be able to work weekends, holidays and evenings as required)
  • LOCATION: Administration Building – Upper Canada Village (11 km east of Morrisburg)
  • SALARY: $17.40 per hour
  • PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: May to September 2024
