Job Responsibilities:

  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, and counseling, (disciplining employees if necessary).
  • Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation between employees and all levels of management.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensures safe operation of equipment by performing and or calling for maintenance and repairs.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, personnel requirements, and implementing any required change.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all
    control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures and labour codes.
  • Maintains working relationship with unionized employees by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Skills and Ability:

  • Attentive to detail and alert, with a safety-first mind set.
  • Ability to read and understand safety warnings, labels, guidelines, work orders, and understand relevant job information.
  • Able to receive and follow instructions and effectively communicate with co-workers.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Mechanically inclined with knowledge and experience in welding and resistance welding
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal punching and forming (punch press and roll-form processes)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Computer Numerical Control
  • Physically capable of bending, twisting, kneeling, and lifting 401bs on a regular basis.
  • Operate and maintain electric counter balance forklifts
  • “Continuous Operation” mind set with a “can do” attitude.

• Post Secondary education or equivalent skill and experience.
